Lemon Tahini Dressing

Don’t let this oil free dressing fool you, it packs a flavorful punch to the belly.  And if you’re one of those that likes a little bit of salad with your dressing then there is no better way to go than oil free.  You can add some sodium for flavor or not. It’s your blood pressure, not mine, so none of my business.

I have a love affair with Bragg’s Liquid Aminos.  I can’t even stand the taste of regular salt anymore. It does have sodium and I use it sparingly, but I do love the almost haunting ability it has to pop out the other spices.  If you’re not a fan, like I would care, but if not and you still want a bit of safer sodium flavor there is always miso paste or coconut aminos as well.

This Lemon Tahini dressing has a bit of a nutty appeal, but not overwhelming and just enough lemon to make your date pucker up for a kiss.  The cayenne will give you a little smack on the booty and who doesn’t want that once in a while. It’s so good that you can use it on whatever you want…. Great for a salad, Buddha bowl, or even as a marinade for an interesting vegan steak. I have grilled chickpeas in the sauce and put it over just james grains for a quick snack.  

This dressing goes great with Green Flakes Salad.

Lemon Tahini Dressing

Equipment

  • Mason jar or blender

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp Tahini
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • ¼ tsp cayenne Pepper
  • 2 dates
  • Bragg’s Liquid Aminos or use miso or Just James veggie broth 1, 2 or 3 taste

Instructions

  • Low speed blend to desired constancy, you may have to go higher to get what you want.
