  • 1.75 cup vital wheat gluten
  • 1 cup chickpeas
  • ¼ cup nutritional yeast
  • 2 cloves garlic chopped
  • ½ onion chopped
  • ¼ tsp cumin
  • ¼ tsp coriander powder
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • 2 Tbsp aminos
  • ½ cup tomato paste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
  • ¼ tsp Liquid Smoke
  • ½ cup best veggie broth


  • Put all that shit in a food processor or a big ass bowl hold the gluten. If you don’t have gadgets get some, but until then lefty get out your potato masher and get to work on those lentils before you go stampeding for the bowl. Okay a fork, jeez get some shit to work with man. Add a bit of veggie broth at a time to get things mingling well, then add the gluten and start all over.
  • Dust your clean work area with a bit of whole grain brown flour. Or whatever you have. Roll that chunk of ugly into a ball and kneed it like you’re making bread. Don’t get discouraged it will come together.
  • Once your satisfied with you big ball cut it into 4 pieces. I cut it in half twice. Then I get my rolling pin out and try to remember grandma can’t hurt me anymore. Roll that shit out into about ½ in thick chunk of goo.
  • Get that pot and the steamer basket out and spray or coat your basket with oil. Close your eyes oil haters… Use what you want, but don’t blame that shit on me.
  • Get that steam going and put those chunky monkeys in the basket, they may bump up against each other but they will get over it. 24.7 minutes on one side and 23.9 minutes on the other.
